But according to <em>HedgeFund.net, </em>the real misery is at the smallest hedge funds, those in the $15 million range. <em>HedgeFund.net </em>says it noticed a spike in funds being removed from its database, and decided to find out why. Micro funds account for 22 percent of the database but for nearly half of the turnover. This is yet another sign of how hard it is to really get a fund up-and-running from scratch. If you've got less than $15 million under management, there is precious little room for error. You've got to start hitting triples right out of the gate.
