Will a Madoff feeder fund ever be brought to justice?

It's been a year since the Bernard Madoff Ponzi scheme scandal burst into the news, and the mastermind is in jail. A few accomplices have plead guilty, but we have yet to see a feeder fund, which some feel were obviously complicit, face significant criminal consequences. But that may be changing.

The New York Times notes there is indeed a criminal investigation underway of Stanley Chais, a retired Hollywood business manager and philanthropist who was one of the earliest investors in Madoff's scheme. Federal prosecutors have asked that a civil case by the SEC be postponed for at least six months, while the criminal investigators wrap up. So we may yet see some action. It would help a lot if Madoff ever decides to cooperate, but that's not going to happen.
