Will Bob McCann run UBS wealth management?
It's no secret that Bob McCann, former head of the Thundering Herd, is a candidate to run the U.S. wealth management operations of UBS. Before he can take that job, he needs to extricate himself from his former employer, Merrill Lynch--now owned, of course, by Bank of America. His efforts have landed him in court.
The Financial Times reports that McCann has sued Bank of America in state court, claiming that he left his position at Merrill for "good reason" in early January, entitling him to wait just six months, with paid leave before taking a new job. McCann says Bank of America's position is that "he was terminated in late January and should have to wait one year."
