Who's in the running for fund manager of the year?
Morningstar's Domestic-Stock Fund Manager of the Year Award is a nice way to garner some attention and recognition for your career. There's not much that fund managers can do to lobby for notice, aside form performing really well. The leading candidates so far this year include Bruce Berkowitz and Larry Pitkowsky of Fairholme Fund, Will Danoff of Fidelity Contrafund, Arup Datta of N/I Numeric Investors Small Cap Value, Mason Hawkins and Staley Cates of Longleaf Partners, David Lee of T. Rowe Price Real Estate, and Ed Owens of Vanguard Health Care.
