Who is J. Christopher Flowers?
J. Christopher Flowers, by one account, has a penchant for making large profits in tough financial situations. When Refco imploded, he thought it sounded like a great opportunity to invest in the futures business and soon decided to act. The former Goldman Sachs partner is not yet the owner. Bankruptcy proceedings allow for other bidders to emerge, but he seems to be in the driver's seat. He is positioned to also acquire the securities business. Most agree Flowers has the credibility to turn things around.
