You would think that Wall Street's top dogs would've stood united during the nadir of the credit crunch. But it's doubtful these guys will ever link arms; there's a lot of testosterone coursing around the executive suites.
New York Magazine mines Andrew Ross Sorkin's new book, "Too Big to Fail," for some choice conflicts. Here are a few: John Mack vs. Jamie Dimon. Mack tried to cut to the chase about whether Dimon wanted to do some sort of deal. Dimon had apparently called some other Morgan Stanley (MS) execs. "If you want to be helpful, then talk to me. I don't want you calling my guys," Mack said, hanging up the phone.
Another match up was Mack vs. Tim Geithner. Mack had to tell his assistant to cover her ears before he used some choice language in reference to the Treasury Secretary. And finally, there was Lloyd Blankfein vs. Bob Steel. Blankfein really didn't want to go pick him up at the airport but his COO insisted.
