Where to hire the best traders

Most traders will admit privately that they gamble for a living. From their perch, Wall Street often looks like a massive, online casino, with higher table minimums than you could ever get in Las Vegas. Now, some firms are starting to recruit poker players.

According to Bloomberg, the Options Group, a headhunting firm, says they got a request from a hedge-fund request for online poker players, no financial experience necessary. He wouldn't identify the client. 

Aaron Brown, a former poker pro who is now a risk manager at AQR Capital Management, told Bloomberg, poker players "know to push when they have the edge and they know how not to bust, and that's a tough combination to find." At Susquehanna International, managers have been using poker to teach new traders for a while. We noted recently that Steven Begleiter, formerly of Bear Stearns, fared well at the recent World Series of Poker.
