What's Dick Fuld up to?

Dick Fuld was the man who couldn't catch a break. The government let Lehman implode, and he was cast as the villain. How bad is it still? An enterprising Reuters reporter caught up to him in Ketchum, Idaho, and Fuld responded: "You don't have a gun; that's good."

He has certainly been in the line of fire. Congress absolutely humiliated him, and so did the press. So you can't blame him for sounding bitter. "You know what? The anniversary's coming up," he told the reporter. "I've been pummeled, I've been dumped on, and it's all going to happen again. I can handle it. You know what, let them line up."

He is aiming for a comeback of sorts. He's started a consulting firm named Matrix Advisors. He is also doing some work for restructuring firm Alvarez and Marsal, helping to unwind Lehman. Apparently, he's not charging.

I LIKE TO SEE AN APPARENT LOSER COME UP, FACE THE MUSIC, AND EMERGE A WINNER. ULTIMATLY, HELPING PEOPLE, SHEDDING GREED, REINVENTING ONESSELF IS THE TRUE MEASURE OF MAN AND A WINNER. GOOD LUCK. REBY

What do I know? I know one thing. People who are capable of inspiring loyalty of the kind I've read about are few & far between. Good luck. People are rarely completely Saint or Sinner, but it suits the media to portray them as one or the other.
