Wasserstein's TW move leaves aftertaste
Did Bruce Wasserstein's gambit in the Carl Icahn-Time Warner fight do harm to his reputation? The New York Times jokes he may have been revealed "as Wall Street's Emperor With No Clout." The issue is really what his blue-chip clients think. You can bet that some were slightly dismayed. Then again, activist hedge funds, a new client area, may be calling him as we speak. The whole episode struck many as bizarre. This is yet another chapter in a fascinating career.
