Wall Street tell-all to be released
Lazard is accustomed to publicity both positive and negative. In its long history, it has had plenty. Get ready for even more. The buzz on Wall Street is a book by a former Lazard banker named William Cohan. The Last Tycoons, to be released April 3 (but available here), is a 712-page tome that includes much on the likes of Felix Rohatyn, Steven Rattner and Bruce Wasserstein. According to Fortune, the book is packed with "juicy tidbits and allegations about Rohatyn's affairs." Apparently, a former girlfriend says he once had "a dalliance" with Jackie O. The book also chronicles Rattner's conflicts with people in Martha's Vineyard. The book recalls The Accidental Investment Banker by Jonathan Knee, which made a minor splash. As for Cohan, he left Lazard in good standing in 1995. He later was employed at Merrill Lynch and JPMorgan Chase. He's working on a new book, a biography of David Wittig.
