T. Boone Pickens in his soul is an old-fashioned Texas oil wildcatter. But he became famous for his many hostile attempts to buy big oil companies. At 80, he's thinks the time has come for a massive bet on water. It could be the next light sweet crude. Business Week reports he's bought up more water than anyone in the U.S., and he's not about to stop. Is he onto something? Is water scarcity going to make it the next oil? Well, he's not the only one betting that supply will skyrocket. Lots of companies are rushing to acquire water, including Royal Dutch Shell. So, at what point will we see water trading on commodities exchanges? This whole trend is bound to be controversial.
