Successful Evercore offering generating excitement

Just when you thought the bloom was off the boutique rose... There is talk that the buyside is pretty excited about Evercore's IPO. It apparently sold for more than the expected offer price. Just ahead of the pricing, one insider publication advised that unless you knew someone you were not likely to get a large piece of the pie. It advised taking crumbs. This is good news for other financial firms hoping to go public. Of course, the aftermarket is a fickle place. One can never count on a straight up ride.
