The saga of Steve Cohen (Steve Cohen news), of SAC Capital (SAC Capital news) fame, and his first wife has dragged on for a while--too long for most people--but the media is still fascinated with it.

To recap, Cohen and his first wife divorced 20 years ago but the acrimony has grown steadily over the years until it erupted in litigation in December, when Patricia Cohen sued him for $300 million, which would appear to be chump change for a man worth $6.5 billion. She made good on her word recently by filing a new suit (lawsuit news) that seems to be seeking a large stake in his entire hedge fund (hedge fund news) empire.

The suit seeks also to bolster her charges of insider trading (insider trading news) by Cohen. She contends that roughly $10 million of the trading proceeds came from an illegal insider trading tip that Cohen received in 1985 about General Electric's acquisition of RCA, according to Reuters. This is one ugly divorce. Cohen denies the allegations. In a twist, Patricia's first lawyer has sued her, seeking a portion of any future awards. This is messy, to say the least.
