Private equity mogul Stephen Feinberg's firm Cerberus Capital owns some iconic American brands, notably Chrysler and GMAC. He prefers to work in the background, as if that were possible. The New York Times notes that he has worked on Wall Street for 20 years and never allowed a media interview--until now, when it landed one arranged by a third-party acquaintance. I sense a slight turn on behalf of Feinberg, who may have concluded that the reclusive thing doesn't work quite so well these days, especially now that Cerberus is in the media's crosshairs. He could use some media friends, so we can get some color about the him. Feinberg comes off like a straight shooter, and a smart one, but one with an arduous task ahead of him.
