The state of dating on Wall Street
Dating on Wall Street has long been a weird game built on money and glamor. Now that the boom has gone bust, relationships have taken a hit. We brought you news recently of Dating a Banker Anonymous, which billed itself as "a safe place where women can come together--free from the scrutiny of feminists--and share their tearful tales of how the mortgage meltdown has affected their relationships."
Fortune notes one high-end dating service (fees up to $25,000) says business is still booming, though she does detect a shift to the buy-side. The biggest change perhaps is that more good spouse seekers are diversifying a bit. "Where they used to immediately say, set me up with someone in finance, they're now going back to the traditional professions as well. They're asking for lawyers and doctors and business owners--the type of guys their grandmothers used to tell them to look for."
