SEC meeting to discuss soft dollars
Today's meeting of the Securities and Exchange Commission will be the first for new chairman Chris Cox and Commissioner Annette Nazareth, a Democrat who formerly headed the SEC's division of market regulation. They have a big issue to discuss: soft dollars. It has been a huge regulatory issue as of late and there is no shortage of opinions. Some investor advocates believe the practice should be banned. You can bet people will be scrutinizing Cox's every word for clues as to how he will serve.
