The real power at JPMorgan Chase
TheStreet.com weighs in with an interesting piece on JPMorgan Chase vice chairman James Bainbridge Lee Jr.--the man whose office is right next to Jaime Dimon's. He seems to be an outsized personality, the stuff of novels and legend. He's the type of guy who can get the likes of Henry Kravis and Steve Schwarzman to his birthday party. He seems to be JPMorgan's consigliere, a guy who can make things happen. He has everyone's ear and is a player in all the really big deals involving his bank. But his bread and butter, the article notes, was dealing with the big sponsors. We'll see how he adjusts to the new private equity industry.
