Princes of the PE industry
You know your industry is on a roll when the likes of Vanity Fair and Fortune start running glitzy articles and publishing top power broker lists. For the private equity industry these are good times indeed. And while Stephen Schwarzman has been anointed by Fortune the "New King of Wall Street" (Henry Kravis fans may want to quibble), the others listed in the top power brokers list are certainly princes: Carlyle group founders Dan D'Aniello and David Rubenstein, Texas Pacific group co-founder David Bonderman, Steve Pagliuca of Bain Capital, Providence Equity Partners' Jonathan Nelson and Apollo founder and Chairman Leon Black. These guys don't get quite as much media as the top two, but they are the big guns in an industry whose influence seems to grow daily. They are rock stars in this world and they have the paychecks to prove it.
