Goldman Sachs CEO Henry Paulson is scheduled to be deposed in the upcoming Eliot Spitzer v. Dick Grasso hate-fest in a few days, according to Newsweek. Paulson, of course, helped lead the board effort to oust Grasso as chief of the NYSE. Paulson said he acted in the best interests of the NYSE, but Grasso has said he believes Paulson acted because he himself had designs on the NYSE. The move, Grasso charges, enabled Paulson to place loyalists in executive positions and arrange for the NYSE to merge with Archipelago. Wow! As for the pay issue, Paulson rarely attended compensation committee meetings.
