On a hiring roll: Jefferies
Employment at Jefferies has risen to 2,045 staffers from 1,783 a year ago and 1,014 at the end of 2000. People are noticing. In February, six executives at Banc of America Securities Prime Brokerage unit joined the firm. This month, Jefferies hired another seven people from Banc of America Securities to work on its electronic trading capabilities. Also, a team of three fixed-income emerging markets experts joined from Wachovia Securities.
