What to make of the threats against Goldman Sachs? Letters sent to various newspapers contained this text: "Goldman Sachs. Hundreds will die. We are inside. You cannot stop us," according to the FBI. The letters were sent to smaller city newspapers, such as those in Fort Wayne, Corpus Christi and Boise. The Newark paper got one, but you would think the letters would be better targeted toward the Wall Street Journal and New York Times. The FBI says the letters were signed "A.Q., U.S.A." In any case, you cannot be too careful in this day and age. Goldman says it is working with authorities and has a many security measures in place. All in all, security on Wall Street is among the tightest of any industry. Let's hope it is not put to the test. But you can rest assured the entire industry is on alert.
