More banker defections at JPMorgan
What's up at JPMorgan? A spate of high-profile banker defections at the bank has raised eyebrows across the Street. Notable departures include Rob Kindler, former global head of mergers, who left to become vice chairman at Morgan Stanley, and Bernard Taylor, who resigned as vice chairman to set up a boutique with ex-JPMorgan colleague Julien Oakley. Several others have also left. This may be a blip, but some are wondering if Jaime Dimon has something to do with it. The question is how committed is the chief to high-priced talent? Does he think the brand can get by without them? Others wonder if he is trying to insinuate the commercial banking side into the investment banking client process.
