Markets taking toll on E-brokerages?
Market conditions seem to taking a toll on online brokerages. The weak stock market led to a dip in assets under management at E*Trade and Ameritrade, and volume may also continue to slide. None of this is a surprise. The real issue for the e-brokerages continues to be diversification. They still need a way to decouple their financial health from market trends.
