For a lot of people, a good Wall Street scandal gets even better if it has a Goldman Sachs (GS) link. To the glee of all Goldman Sachs conspiracy theorists, such a link has now turned up. Recall that the merry band of alleged inside traders, led by Raj Rajaratnam, was tipped off about an impending Google earnings miss.

The tip came from someone who claimed to have gotten the very inside info from someone at IR shop Market Street Advisors. Which was founded by a former Goldman Sachs employee. So there it is: The vampire squid is everywhere! This is a serious breach and Market Street is suffering the kind of PR hit that no IR shop wants, but it is still unclear what happened. It may be that the tipster was lying. We just don't know.
