When it comes to Bernard Madoff (Bernard Madoff news) feeder funds, Walter Noel and the misguided souls at the Fairfax Greenwich fund got much of the attention. But up in Boston, Robert Jaffe has generated some interest as well.

A sure sign Jaffe's become a media figure: The Boston Herald has reported that he's trying to offload his leased Mercedes. Apparently, he can no longer afford the monthly lease payments, which have 13 months to run, so he's running ads. It must be humiliating for him.

Jaffe--the son-in-law of Carl Shapiro, one of Boston 's biggest philanthropists--allegedly recruited wealthy clients to invest with Madoff. He is thought to be under investigation by federal authorities. Irving Picard, the trustee in charge of retuning funds to victims, has already sued him. Jaffe contends, like other feeders, that he, too, was a victim. His supporters say the fact that he is trying to offload his lease reflects his dire financial straits.
