Lehman tops in research again
Well, Institutional Investor's 2007 All-American sell-side research team is out, and for the fifth straight year Lehman Brothers takes the crown. It beat out No. 2 Bear Stearns, which rose from fourth. Citigroup came in third, after coming in second in 2006. JP Morgan rose three spots to fourth. Merrill Lynch came in fifth, after placing third last year. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley tied for ninth. Forty-four Lehman analysts placed first, second, third or runner-up in 67 industries covered. So this is the kind of bragging rights that can be important to analysts, especially when it comes to recruitment.
