Lehman Brothers CEO to be forced out?

We've noted before that Richard Fuld, CEO of Lehman Brothers, is really on the hot seat. Most doubt how he can possibly continue as CEO. The board has a real pickle to contend with. They might have canned him earlier, but firing him now would be problematic. At a time, when the bank is in intense capital raising mode, you need a leader out there heading the charge. The board cannot do that, but at some point, a change may be best for all. The Observer reports that some insiders think that Fuld will be forced out before the end of the year. This likely reflects the thinking of the anti-Fuld faction. But they can make a case for such a move--a strong one.
