How did top women execs fare in the crunch?
So how did top women executives end up, now that the worst of the credit crunch seems to have passed. Well, Minyanville offers a cheat sheet.
Zoe Cruz wants back in the game, as a hedge fund pro. Sallie Krawcheck is back in charge of a retail operation, this time at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAC). Meredith Whitney, whose star soared during he crunch, has struck out on her own as an analyst. Erin Callan, after being ousted at Lehman Brothers, got a job overseeing hedge funds at Credit Suisse. But she left after about five months and it's unclear what she's up to now.
At JPMorgan (JPM), things are going well on the surface for Heidi Miller, who's won plaudits for running the Treasury and Securities Services. No one sees her as a candidate to run the entire bank someday, but she probably could run a bank. In Washington, the careers of Sheila Bair, Elizabeth Warren and Mary Schapiro have gotten a boost. Look for one or more in the private sector someday.
