Goldman Sachs depends on its proprietary traders to a huge degree. And if you can make a lot of money for the firm, you'll make yourself a lot as well.  Raanan  Agus, manager of a Goldman hedge fund, likely made up to $20 million this year, according to The New York Times. That's a great year. Agus runs Goldman's principal strategies group, which comprises elite proprietary traders. There are only 75 professionals in the group. They are the reason people often refer to the firm as one giant hedge fund. Agus himself seems to be an interesting character. You may have this in common with him: He drives a Honda. He is said to be very modest and loves chess.
