Hedge funds to face new world?
With all the fighting underway about financial reform as of late, we haven't heard a lot of specifics about hedge funds. While they were pilloried not so long ago, they have so far escaped any meaningful regulatory overhaul attempts. But everyone expects that to change, and we may be seeing that now.
Reuters reports that hedge funds may be required to disclose some "pretty detailed reporting" to regulators, some of which might actually be made public. The Obama Administration will likely stick with its view that funds ought to register and subject themselves to examination. We'll likely get some more specifics soon.
