The SEC only charged one individual in its suit against Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS). That would be Vice President Fabrice Tourre, who the SEC (SEC news) alleges was the mastermind  of it all. The press is having a field day with one email included in the complaint: "More and more leverage in the system, The whole building is about to collapse anytime now...Only potential survivor, the fabulous Fab[rice Tourre]... standing in the middle of these complex, highly leveraged, exotic trades he created without necessarily understanding all of the implications of those monstruosities!!! (sic)" he wrote in an email to a friend in January 2007. Article
