Goldman eyes boomers in Japan

The Baby Boomer phenomena is not limited to the U.S. In Japan, a coming wave of retirees has galvanized a lot of financial services firms, who aim to benefit in many ways. Goldman Sachs has come up with a warrant linked to the stocks of 11 companies poised to gain from baby boomer retirements. In the past few months, these 11 stocks, which include travel and fitness companies, have easily beat the Nikkei. The warrant is in keeping with other theme-based products from Goldman Sachs. It recently launched a warrant linked to companies poised to benefit from a tightening of traffic laws. Other banks, notably Citigroup, aim to also cash in on the boomers.
