"The most influential magazine you've never heard of," according to Portfolio, is Wilmott, named for its editor Paul Wilmott. Apparently the magazine, which is aimed at the quantitative financial community, was fairly prescient with its views of the credit markets. It has only about 2,000 subscribers, who pay $800 a year for the six issues. But it wields a lot of influence. Ed Thorp has an article up on the website now. "There are other journals for quants, but Wilmott's odd wit, surprisingly beautiful design, and star-studded list of contributors make it special, even for nonquants." It reminds me of some ways of Grant's Interest Rate Observer, edited by James Grant, which made its name in a previous era.
