Jennifer Sharkey, a former vice president in JPMorgan's (NYSE: JPM) wealth management unit, has filed a suit against the company, accusing it of improperly firing her for blowing the whistle on what she thought was a rogue client. She was let go six days after submitting a report urging the bank to drop the client, an overseas customer who had been a client for 20 years and generated roughly $600,000 of business annually, reports Reuters.

She charges that before her removal, her activities had already led to retaliation in the form of being barred from client accounts and being excluded from client meetings. Sharkey also charges that she was denied a 2009 bonus after being a top producer. Sharkey had been with JPMorgan since 2006 and managed accounts for more than 75 high-net-worth clients with more than $500 million in assets. She is seeking reinstatement and back pay among other things. My guess is that this one will settle quietly.
