The end of Goldman's GEO Fund
Goldman Sachs (GS) quietly shut down its Global Equities Opportunities Fund at the end of last year. The fund was once a big winner, but poor returns led to massive redemptions beginning in 2007. Reuters reports the quantitative fund had about $200 million in assets at the end of 2009, down from roughly $7 billion at its peak. Article
