Employee gets caught viewing pics during broadcast

The topic was weighty: Where are interest rates heading in this uncertain environment? But as a Macquarie Bank wealth advisor discussed the issue on live TV, the seriousness was broken by activity in the background.

An employee behind the wealth advisor opened up an email with some racy pictures of an Australian supermodel, identified as Miranda Kerr, from a recent GQ photo spread. Soon another man comes over to talk to the offending employee, who turns to face the camera. He flashes a sheepish grin. Not his finest moment.

It's unclear what steps the bank will take. In a statement, it said it was investigating the matter and that it "takes matters such as the unacceptable use of technology extremely seriously." It also noted that it indeed had "strict policies" in place. But they obviously failed to prevent this. This is a wake-up call for all PR managers. You do not want this to happen on your watch.
