Cultural rifts at NYSE Euronext?

People generally seem to have overlooked the possibility of cultural rifts at the newly merged NYSE Euronext. I'm not suggesting that this is a Hewlett Packard-Dell or ATT-NCR situation. But there does exist the possibility of some differences. Financial News Online points out an obvious one. Jean-François Théodore, deputy chief executive of the newly merged NYSE Euronext, was paid $1.81 million as CEO of Euronext, while John Thain raked in $9.36 million. Euronext was more profitable. We're not going to see any moves to lower the pay of the executives on the U.S. side. We'll likely see moves to boost the pay on the European side.
