Commercial loans to hit regional banks?
Judging by bank stock indexes, investors feel that good times are just around the corner. At banks with a high concentration of commercial loans, there's a lot of nervousness as the recession continues to take its toll.
The article offers some examples of banks with relatively high exposures. The percentage of commercial loans in loan portfolios was 65 percent for BB&T, 77 percent Comerica, and 64 for Fulton Financial and 57 percent for PNC (data from CapitalIQ). Some analysts are certainly nervous about BB&T.
