CFO to run consumer unit at Bank of America
CEO Brian Moynihan has signaled that he is not afraid of novel executive moves. He has made CFO Joe Price, the head of consumer banking, a major unit at the company, obviously. He'll be running the consumer, small business and card operations. It may not be as novel as it sounds initially. Price has some experience in the consumer banking world; he was president of consumer finance from 1999 to 2002. He has also worked in finance, risk management and corporate strategy.
According to Bloomberg, he was "often called upon by Lewis during conference calls and investor presentations to explain details of the bank's latest results and ventures." You get the feeling that the board and Moynihan are already thinking about Price as a possible CEO candidate when the time comes. I guess it's not too early to start thinking about succession after what the bank went through before it named Moynihan to the top spot.
