CEO pay much higher in United States than in other countries

As the G20 meeting gets underway, there's a lot of talk about financial reform. Whether anything of substance will actually flow from this high-profile confab is anyone's guess, though there are many who doubt any real change will result. But the event will certainly keep financial reform in the headlines. 

A chief issue, of course, is banker's pay. Reuters has taken the opportunity to issue its study of bankers' pay around the world. Which found "massive differences in pay among the CEOs of the world's top banks," with U.S. CEOs receiving far more than their counterparts in other countries. 

The report highlighted some bankers in China who work for very little. The chairman of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, the world's largest bank by some measures, "made just $234,700 in 2008. That's less than 2 percent of the $19.6 million awarded to Jamie Dimon."
