Big pensions sticking with hedge funds
Big U.S. pension funds' investment in hedge funds (hedge fund news) hit $84 billion last year, according to P&I. That's up from less than $4 billion in 2001. The big issue of course is whether the big pensions will continue to support hedge funds. Our take is that pensions will continue to be huge investors, given the need for alpha, even as they press them for better terms.
