Big cat fight at Icahn Enterprises
So what's it like working at Carl Icahn's Icahn Enterprises? An interesting glimpse comes from a lawsuit filed by two workers at the firm who were fired late last year. The New York Post reports that the suit was filed by Sandra Silva, of Cliffside Park , New Jersey and Valerie Romano of Queens, New York. They allege they were targeted by Icahn's wife and one of her lieutenants "who were jealous of the younger, tech-savvy women" and "randy execs who commented on their bodies and groped one of them."
The two complained to HR and were told there was nothing they could do. They are seeking $1.5 million. Icahn's wife apparently closely guarded "the circle," which included top firm executives and their families. They socialized after work and hung out on the weekends. Silva and Romano's travails were said to have reached the top. Carl Icahn himself allegedly said to one of them: "So you are the one everyone is talking about."
