As only a secretary could tell it: "Sometimes when he came out of his bathroom, which was diagonal to my desk, he would still be zipping up his pants. If he saw me shaking my head disapprovingly, he would say 'Oh, you know it excites you,'" Eleanor Squillari, Madoff's secretary of more than 20 years, writes in an upcoming Vanity Fair piece.

She's been making the rounds promoting the article; I'm sure she would like a book deal. She paints a picture of a flirtatious man who made sexually charged jokes, but was likable nevertheless. In her opinion, Madoff has decided not to cooperate with federal investigators because he's protecting people who might have been involved. She didn't name any names.
