Bank hiring boom in the making?
The conventional wisdom right now is that the worst has passed in the financial services industry. One could point to the hiring that's starting to get underway. The bloodletting is over, and we may be at the very beginning of what may turn into a huge hiring boom in a few years.
Now is the time to get your act together if you want to return to the industry. Bank of America (BAC) and Goldman Sachs (GS) are among banks that are in hiring mode. Wealth management seems to be an especially hot area. Goldman Sachs announced recently in will hire 200 people in its asset management unit--"an area where advisers, account managers, project managers, risk managers and analysts are the most sought-after role," reports CNBC. Hedge funds have also boosted their hiring. Eventually, this will extend to investment banking, where things are again active.
