Bank boutique IPOs on hold for now
The sell-side seems fairly confident that it will be able to get a few more bank boutiques to go public before too long. The issue is when. The IPO market isn't exactly hospitable right now. Still, the likes of JMP Securities and ThinkEquity Partners are eyeing offerings, but it will be at least 12 months before they go forward. WR Hambrecht is also considering such a move but has no firm plans. For now, all eyes will remain on the aftermarket, as people monitor the likes of Cowen, Thomas Weisel Partners and others.
