And the league table winner is...
Morgan Stanley has bested its archrival Goldman Sachs in the global and U.S. deal league tables, Reuters notes. Morgan Stanley graces the top of the worldwide list now; it worked on 202 deals worth $490.9 billion so far this year. That was good enough to vault it from sixth place into first place.
Goldman Sachs fell from first to second place; it worked on 182 deals worth about $455 billion or so. Citi came in third, followed by JPMorgan, Deutsche Bank, UBS and Bank of America Merrill. Overall M&A volume fell by more than 40 percent, however. As for over all investment banking fees so far this year JPMorgan took the top spot, with a market share of 8.7 percent. It was followed by Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, Citi and Morgan Stanley.
