Fast Facts: Stearns Bank of St. Cloud, MN assumed all insured deposits from Alpha Bank & Trust; as of Sept. 30, 2008, Alpha Bank & Trust had $354.1 million in total assets and $346.2 million in total deposits; as of June 30, 2008, more than 75 percent of Alpha Bank & Trust's $305.7 million loan portfolio was in construction and developmental loans; Alpha Bank & Trust is the second Georgia bank to fail this year (Integrity Bank is the other)...both are based in Alpharetta, as is NetBank, which failed in September 2007.
