Allen Stanford, the accused hedge fund fraud artist, is having a tough time dealing with his new Madoff-like status. Prison has been tough on him. He was hospitalized again on Thursday with an elevated pulse, just hours before his former CFO and old friend entered a guilty plea in the $7 billion fraud case, according to Reuters.

James Davis, 60, pleaded guilty to three felony counts as part of a plea deal that has apparently made him a key witness for the government. Stanford's lawyer told Reuters he has a history of high blood pressure and has had trouble getting medication at his jail in Conroe, Texas.
