Algorithmic trading raises huge questions for Wall Street
The rise of algorithmic trading is changing Wall Street in so many ways. One implication concerns small cap stocks. So far anyway, algorithmic trading has been limited mainly to large-capitalization stocks. Some think that has made the Street even more dismissive of small cap stocks. Others thinks such trading can be deployed for smaller cap trading as well. According to Investment Dealers' Digest, Banc of America Securities is using algorithms to gauge risk when making markets in small cap stocks. Is this the future?
