TEMPE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- TruWest Credit Union recognizes that times have been tough with the deflated housing market and increase in unemployment. And on a broader scale, the turmoil with the national deficit and stock market issues are compounding an already dreary financial outlook for many. Despite the even more negative perceptions of banks and other lenders taking advantage of consumers during these strained times or only offering loans to those with pristine credit, TruWest is providing a ray of light by offering a new auto loan program that offers incredible rates – even for those who have had a few dings on their credit report.

Now, more than ever, people are looking for ways to save money. From clipping coupons to signing up for local deal emails, people are turning to as many resources as they can to cut costs. But what they may be missing out on is reducing their interest rate and monthly payment on their auto loan. Those who may have experienced some issues with their credit in the past can have a tough time getting approved for a low interest rate.

“TruWest believes that even those who may have fallen on hard times deserve a great rate, which is why we are launching the new auto loan program that undoubtedly offers some of the lowest rates for them to take advantage of. It’s all part of our commitment to upholding the TruDifference philosophy of providing great rates to all of our members,” says Farid Farbod, TruWest’s Chief Lending Officer.

To further encourage people to check out TruWest for an auto loan (new purchase or refinance), the Credit Union is not only offering these highly competitive interest rates, but it is also giving $50 for direct auto loans over $10,000 and the option to not make a payment for the first three months.

This could be an incredible money-saving opportunity for many, but some may think they can’t take advantage of the offer because of the common misconception of “I can’t join a credit union.” While some credit unions have very specific guidelines for joining, others – like TruWest Credit Union – have a community charter, which means anyone who lives or works within a certain area can join. For TruWest, anyone who lives or works within Maricopa County and parts of Pinal County in Arizona or Travis and Williamson Counties in Texas is eligible to open an account and cash in on the new auto loan program.
